Say a prayer

Dear family and friends,

Quickly I want to share the amount of miracles I have seen the past
couple of weeks.

We have been teaching a beautiful family of 6 who just went to church
this last week and want to be baptized. We are also teaching a mother
and daughter who want to be baptized as well. We found a Spanish
family who are very prepared by the lord and want to be baptized as
well. One of the members in our ward is helping us teach this girl who
wants to be baptized as well. I am so thankful for my savior and our
father for preparing these people for baptism. The weeks are just
flying but with this much work.

Let's just say because of some other people's actions I have not been
the happiest camper,
but a scripture has been running through my head today. “He that is
slow to anger is better than the mighty.” (Prov. 16:32.) yeah I just
got massacred. (destroyed). I definitely am in the wrong to be
frustrated. So I did what needed to happen. I prayed. Something as
simple as praying made me feel 100x's better. It's hard to be mad when
you are speaking to someone with infinite love. I am so thankful that
I can pray whenever I want. It's so sad when I teach people who have
never prayed in their lives and have never been able to speak to there
Father in Heaven.

I'm sorry this email is short! I will do better next time. I don't
have a lot of time today.

Love Elder Owens!

Miracles and transfers

Dear family and friends,

The time has come again to write a letter concerning my week. This
week has been very rewarding as well as very challenging. This week
started off pretty well... One of the elders in my district who is 7
feet tall and weighs 295, had surgery on his belly button because he
had two hernias. They gave him an epidural and got it done in 30
minutes. I won't lie, Spanish doctors get things done here. Sometimes
without pain medication :)

Then on Tuesday we received a reference for a man who lives in a
pueblo about 30 minutes away by car. So we went and taught him and his
family! They have a baptisml date for the 27th!! The only thing that
is keeping them back is that they work on the weekends so they can't
attend church. We are working on that though. Right after we thought
we couldn't be more blessed, we received another reference for a 22
year old Romanian girl that lives 1 hour away by car!! So we visited
her and she has a baptismal date for the 27th as well!! The only
problem is that she lives an hour away... But we will figure it out.
Also we had some days where we just contacted all day because everyone
canceled on us. But it's fun sometimes!

Transfers were this week!! I am going to stay in Molina de segura and
be companions with Elder Salcedo Miranda!!! A native!!! I will have
more information on him later! I'm super excited to still be working
here it is a great area!!

I challenge everyone this week to give a reference to the
missionaries! I gave a talk in church this last week on the importance
of preaching the gospel! It is our duty as members of the church to
spread the gospel! It will bring us happiness beyond belief!

I'm am thankful for all of you and your willingness to share this
beautiful message that we have!

Love
Elder Owens
