Zone conference and more Torrevieja!

Dear family and friends!

We received news this week and I will be staying here in good old
Torrevieja and my companion is headed to Málaga Wednesday!! My new
companion is Elder Riddle! I have no idea who is is do I will let you
all know next week!

Is week we had our zone conference! We talked a lot about what we need
to do to complete with our new goals that we just changed as a mission
as well as how to be a better missionary in general. This week we also
had our stake conference! In Torrevieja there are a lot of tourists!
It makes everything just a little bit harder! But visiting this week
was the temple president and his wife from Stockholm Sweden!

Another fun fact that I leaned this week is that the top three healthy
places to live in the world is
3. Torrevieja
2. Israel
1. Salt Lake City
This is because of the large bodies of saltwater next to the cities.

Something I want to share about this week is agency.
My understanding of agency has increased tenfold in these short 10 months!
We all have agency... It's a gift to all of the children of God! We
can choose the right from the wrong!

Something that I understand now is how much we have to use this gift
of agency! Every little decision we make in our life can influence our
destiny! I absolutely loved our presidents talk about our decisions!
We need to know where we are going!! But not only that, we need to
want to go there! Our father in heaven will not force us to do
anything. He wants us all to make the right choice but in the end it
is our decision!

Please choose the right! Do all you can to please your father in
heaven! He will work wonders among you!

I love you all!

Elder Owens!

The witness of your testimony

Dear family and friends,

This week was a little rough... My comp got really sick this last week and we were homebound until Friday :(

Even though that was tough it brightened up with the baptism of Victoria!!! Woooooo wooooo She is a great! She is super prepared and was very ready to be baptized! during her confirmation she started to cry because she felt the spirit so strong. I am super grateful for her example of faith!

We went paintballing this week for pday with the zone which was pretty sweet! I got shot in the head... We gave the Elder a few extra points because of that shot.

Well I quickly want to talk about a talk given by Elder Bednar, he talks about the difference between a testimony and a conversion. A testimony is a great gift from our father, this divine revelation is a blessing to every one of his children. Now a conversion is a result of our ACTIONS because of our testimony. Ok for example, I know that Tomas s. Monson is a prophet of God. With this knowledge or testimony, I should now follow all of his teachings and ACT on the testimony which God has given me.

I am so greatful for the testimony that I have and I want to show to my father in heaven that I am by sharing it with the world! It pains me to know that at times I have not been so thankful for my blessings and I wish to change that by my ACTIONS!

Have faith and ACT! Sometimes we just need to do it!

May 16, 2016: Our week

Dear family and friends,

Basically we didn't work at all this week...

With my companion being sick, district meeting and exchanges we didn't
get as much time as we wanted on the streets this week.

We also spent a few hours doing some service for some members in the
ward! So, I think there is only one form of service in Spain... Moving
washers to the 3rd story... So that was fun! I couldn't pick up a fork
afterwards but no big deal.

Hahahaha!!! Finally!! Veronica had her baptismal interview and she
will be baptized the 21st of this month! I swear it's for real this
time! I will have pictures to prove it next week!

I am so greatful for the members in this ward who are willing to share
this gospel!
Because of their actions another sole will be brought to our Father in
Heaven, and who knows? Maybe more will come because of her!?

I commit you all to talk to someone today about the gospel of Jesus
Christ! It will not only bless their live but yours as well!

Sorry for the short email, my comp can barely move.

Love

Mothers Day letter

Dear family and friends!

  c. He wanted to charge us 190€
  d. Hahaha
  e. Got him to drop it to 80€
  f. Was not a happy camper after that one.

2. Ate a lot of food with members!
   a. Chinese Buffet, burgers with French fries, pork with potatoes
from a German lady
   b. Enough said

3. Zone conference in Cartagena
   a. Super sweet meeting that is basically going to change the mission
   b. Ate dominos after
   c. Had to take a 2 hour bus ride #nomorecar

4. Best lesson ever!
   a. We invited a super nice sweet Chilean lady to be baptized the
21 of this month
   b. The spirt was stronger than ever! Basically we were all in
tears at the end!
   c. Her name is Veronica and she is awsome!

5. Called my sweet mother

I am so thankful for my mother! As I think about it, she showed me
what is true sacrifice. When I was younger I didn't fully understand
the sacrifice that our Savior made, being that it was a sacrifice made
back in the meridian of time and something I just simply didn't
understand.
So that is why my mother means so much to me. She was someone I could
physically watch, someone I could learn from, someone who could teach
me how to act, live and treat others.
As I grew up I found it easier to just worry about myself and just do
things I wanted to do. But thankfully I had a sweet mother to guide me
and help me understand that there is only one way... The way of Our
Savior.

His perfect example sets the straight and narrow path, and I will be
forever grateful because my mother taught me to follow him. My mother
is the perfect example of sacrifice! I know she gave everything for
her family.

I know my Father lives and that He has a perfect plan for me. I will
forever be in debt to Him for many things! But most of all for giving
me my mother.

Crazy town!

Dear family and friends!

I apologize for the sort message today!

I just want to share with you a scripture!

Wherefore, be not weary in well doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work.” (D&C 64:33)

At times you might feel tired. At times you might feel like nothing is going for you. Maybe you just feel like it would be better to just do nothing and wait for a better time to do it!

I want to tell you. Get up!........ Go!........ Stand up!...... Get going! .........Stop being lazy it doesn't matter what you just did! ..........Keep going!

I know that the greatest people on the earth didn't stop going! They didn't give up!

I testify that if we do as the Savior did... A man who suffered the greatest pains and greatest sorrows and still TODAY!! Is putting every ounce of His sole into the work of His Father, we will be blessed more than we understand!

Please! It doesn't matter if you think your actions don't affect anyone else! They affect your Father in Heaven!

I love you all! You are in my daily prayers!

Love,
Elder Owens
